Singapore, 23 July 2025 – MADCash Singapore, in partnership with YWCA Singapore, has successfully completed the inaugural cohort of the Hopemaker Women’s Business Accelerator (WBA), marking a major milestone in their joint mission to empower underserved women entrepreneurs.

Over a transformative 10-week journey, 28 remarkable women from four different nationalities came together with one shared mission – to build sustainable businesses and uplift their communities. The program focused on key areas such as business planning, confidence building, and financial literacy—all tailored to support women who are often excluded from traditional economic opportunities.

The graduation ceremony was held on 12 July 2025, marking the end of the first phase of the accelerator. As participants stepped into the next stage of their entrepreneurial journey, they were matched with mentors to help guide them in implementing what they’ve learned.

The milestone was further celebrated in a larger gathering on 22 July 2025, attended by over 100 guests, and graced by Ms. Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Finance and National Development. The event also served as a platform for YWCA Singapore to highlight several new initiatives aimed at expanding opportunities for women they serve.

It’s about hope, transformation, and the ripple effect of empowering women in their homes and communities,” said Nuraizah Shamsul Baharin, Founder of MADCash. “We are proud to stand with YWCA Singapore in creating meaningful pathways for women to thrive.”

The collaboration between MADCash and YWCA Singapore is set to continue beyond this first batch, with both organizations committed to expanding the program and deepening their impact.

Pham Thi Duyen ( Cherry) who provides beauty and makeup services, said, “The most valuable part of the MADCash program was the step-by-step guidance that helped me structure my business clearly. I really appreciated the practical tools like the Business Model Canvas and the Value Proposition exercises. The mentorship and support from the trainers made me feel seen and heard, especially as a single mum building a business from scratch.”

Meanwhile, Fitriana Dewi, who runs a traditional Indonesian food business, said, “This is a good program that educates on the financial aspects of a business and how to run one.”

Han Yen Ting, who sells artwork of her special needs daughter Joy, said, “I learned so much from it (the program) and the support from the staff at YWCA and other entrepreneurs are exceptional!”

KUALA LUMPUR, 14 July 2025 – Fifty women entrepreneurs, supported through a collaborative entrepreneurship initiative by MADCash, the Sarawak Women and Family Department (JWKS), and an Islamic financial institution, have been awarded grants ranging from RM2000 and RM6000 to accelerate the growth of their micro-enterprises and empower their journey towards financial independence. These women have taken eight classes of business and financial topics, which sets the basic understanding of their business as they move to the phase of stabilizing and growing their business.

The handing over of the grant cheque was carried out by Ybrs. Puan Salmah Binti Jobeli, Director of the Women and Family Department of Sarawak, who represented YB Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah, Minister of Women, Children and Community Welfare of Sarawak, during a ceremony in Kuching, on 11 July.

In her speech, Salmah said, “We welcome collaboration from private organisations in supporting the growth of Sarawakian women entrepreneurs and hope to see more of these activities in the future.”

Meanwhile, Nuraizah Shamsul Baharin, CEO of MADCash, explained, “It is common knowledge that MADCash’s programmes often provide funds in the form of interest-free loans. However, this is the first time we have the opportunity to work with grants, which will provide a different approach to supporting these women. All the participants have completed business and financial training classes that we organized over two months.

Now the next journey begins – using the funding given to grow and strengthen their businesses.”

Nuraizah further stated that MADCash’s objective is to help all recipients increase their income so that when their businesses have grown, they will be eligible to apply for mainstream financial assistance in the future, such as loans from MADCash and other financial institutions.

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 April 2025 – In celebration of Earth Day 2025, MADCash Sdn. Bhd., a Kuala Lumpur-based fintech empowering women through micro-financing, has partnered with ERTH (Electronic Recycling Through Heroes), a Cyberjaya-based e-waste recycling advocate, to launch the MADCash x ERTH Mini Hub program.

This project, starting today, will establish e-waste collection hubs operated by 10 women entrepreneurs – dubbed MADCash x ERTH Divas – across the Klang Valley and Johor Bahru. The initiative aims to collect at least 5,000 kilograms of electronic waste in the next 12 months while providing sustainable income opportunities for women.

Through this collaboration, ERTH has allocated a total of RM5000 in funds for MADCash to distribute to program participants as a loan. Each participant will receive a RM500 micro-loan from this program as startup capital to pay for the collected e-waste.

Nuraizah Shamsul Baharin, founder of MADCash, shared, “This collaboration aligns with our mission to create sustainable livelihoods for women. By integrating green entrepreneurship into our model, we’re not just empowering women financially, but we’re also nurturing a generation of eco-conscious business leaders. It’s a long-term game, but we will get there!”

Mohamed Tarek El-Fatatry, founder of ERTH, added, “Tackling e-waste requires community-driven solutions. Through this partnership, we’re turning everyday women into environmental heroes, proving that small actions can drive big change.”

This program was designed to promote green entrepreneurship, to encourage women to run eco-friendly micro-businesses from their communities, fostering environmental awareness.

MADCash and ERTH will evaluate this pilot project periodically to assess its scalability for future expansion after the trial period.

Electronic waste is a growing environmental crisis, with improper disposal leading to pollution and health hazards. By engaging women entrepreneurs as collection agents, MADCash and ERTH are addressing two critical challenges — e-waste management and women’s economic empowerment.

MADCash is in the process of selecting 10 participants and aims to board them by May 5, 2025. These MADCash x ERTH Divas will receive training and resources to operate their mini hubs effectively.

The program’s success will be measured by its environmental impact (e-waste collected) and socioeconomic benefits (women’s income growth). If proven effective, the model could expand nationwide.

The public is encouraged to support this initiative by:

• Donating e-waste (old phones, laptops, cables, etc.) at designated hubs.
• Spreading awareness about responsible e-waste disposal.
• Nominating women entrepreneurs for future program phases.

This prestigious recognition highlights MADCash’s commitment to empowering unbanked and underbanked women entrepreneurs through microfinance and financial literacy programs across Malaysia, Singapore, and Tajikistan.

The awards ceremony will take place on April 24, 2025, where the finalists will showcase their projects. The winner of EFICA 2025 will be selected based on audience votes during the gala dinner.
